Samuel D Pettit, Formerly of Westfield
Cranford- Samuel D Pettit, 83, of 9 English Village, died Saturday (dec 17, 1955) after a brief illness in Rahway Memorial Hospital, Rahway. Born in Fairdale, PA, he has lived in Westfield for 9 years before moving to CRanford.
Mr Pettit retired 12 years ago from the wholesale Lumber business which he consucted, He was a member of the Westfield Old Guard chapter and a former member of Echo Lake Country Club.
He is survived by his widow, Ann Jones Pettit;
and 2 daughters, Miss Gwladys Pettit, and Mrs Marion P Faxon, both of this place.
Funeral services will be heldat 2pm tomorrow in Gray Memorial, with the Rev RG Longaker, pastor of the 1st Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
